  1. were the first answers not good enough for you? go back to your previous questions.

  2. That you're going to have to be willing to go outside every few hours. Puppies are like babies. No control over their tiny bladders.

There are loads of other things, so I'll try to list a few, if you've never owned a dog -

    - DO NOT bathe the dog every day like you do yourself. Probably once every other week.

    - DO go to the vet and get a check up, rabies shots, heartguard, flea medicines, etc. You'll need to go back to the vet at least once a year.

    - DO get the dog fixed, whether male or female, thinking of the vet. They'll be healthier and happier for it.

    - The amount of brushing depends on the breed. Recommend going to your local pet store and getting one of the many dog books about the variety of breeds and what the different dogs need for their health and general wellness.

    - Be prepared to be consistent. If you want them to do certain things, be consistent. Dogs work much better in structure.

    - I recommend reading or watching some of Cesar Millan's books/shows. He is really good at explaining energy and how to keep a dog balanced and, ultimately, happy.

    - And finally, thinking of that, be prepared to exercise the dog. Best to be able to take walks every day. You'll have a much happier dog who is less likely to destroy your house because of pent up energy. (For walking tips, watch Cesar on that, too).

Good luck! I love my 2 dogs and don't know what I'd do without them.

  3. First you have to be able to spend adequate time in the beginning and not leave your pup alone for longer than 2-3 hrs...and definitely get a crate...you also have to know that if something happened unexpectedly to your pup and it was going to cost an alarming amount can you afford it???  It isn't cheap to own any animal especially a dog.....there are various shots and on-going costs that are weekly etc....
