What would be fun things to do around Andermatt in the summer ?

We will visit Switzerland in July and August and have bookes an apartment in Andermatt for part of that period. Except train trips are there other nice things to do (we are 2 grown ups and three kids (11-8-3).

Well, bus trips of course! There's a 3-Pass-Tour I think it's called, leaves Andermatt in the morning (8ish and gets back around 5--you go through 3 mountain passes, have time to stop and walk in a glacier, have a quick lunch in Meiringen and a few little visits. It's run by the post office (they have a bus company--it's a funny country...) so there's no tour guide per se (although some of the other routes have the driver talking--in Swiss German) but it's reasonably priced. We went with my daughters and nephews who were 10, 6, 9 and 7--I would say that the whole day wasn't the best bet, would have been better to go to the glacier and then come back a couple hours later (we only had 20 mins in the glacier).

Also definitely take the gondola up the mountain...or walk but it's quite a trek. There are definitely some easier hikes. Check out http:/myswitzerland.com

And if you're really lucky you might find the backpack full of Yu-Gi-Oh cards my nephews lost.
