  1. many people in US have dual citizenships, like Asians, Mexicans and Jewish.

  2. Advantages?  Being able to enter either at the border by using the appropriate passport.

Disadvantages?  The US taxes all citizens on worldwide income whether they are living/staying in the US or elsewhere.  If you renounce your US citizenship, you are still subject to US taxes for up to 10 years after renunciation.  You get to pay income taxes in 2 countries and do income tax returns for two countries, one state, and one province for the rest of your life.  Have fun!

  3. None really, I'm always puzzled by all the interest in dual nationality. A visa and passport allow you to enter and exit without a problem.

Even when you are a citizen of both you still have to maneuver through all the residency and tax requirements.

Maybe someone can point out some positives worth the hassles...I just don't see them

  4. You would have the rights of citizenship of both countries.  The one thing it does make easier is manuevering between the two countries.  You could live in either country or both.  My son and I both have Canadian and uS citizenship--no big deal really.
