  4. STARTERS

    soup, prawn mayo, melon

    DESSERTS

    gateau, ice cream, pavlova

  5. starters, vegetable soup, egg mayonaise, prawn cocktail

Desserts, apple crumble with fresh cream, Fresh fruit salad,

Rhubarb tart and hot thick custard

  6. prawn cocktail, garlic mushrooms, soup, pate, and fruit salad (usually melon) are good ones.

deserts- cheescake, gateau, fudge cake, ice-cream, fruit salad (again) profiterolls always go down well.

  7. Starters -  Soup or pate and toast or melon

Desserts - Death By Chocolate!!!, profitta rolls and c ream, rasperry pavlova, ice cream or brule'.

Bon apetite  - I am salivating now!!!

  8. Starter?  In the winter, no doubt whatsoever, a plate of good really home made soup - provided it passes the test "Is the last spoonful still hot?".  In the summer something light, prawn cocktail, dressed egg, a salad concoction or what have you.

Desert?  Whatever takes your fancy.  If you have already eaten well then all that is needed is something light - BUT NOT ice cream, please.

  9. Black pudding with Mustard Sauce and Apple Crumble

  10. Starters - Soup, Prawns, whitebait, melon with prawn/parma ham, smoked salmon

Desserts - Apple crumble with custard, bread and butter pudding, fruit compote, baked apple with cream.

  12. I am not English (French) but I have lived in England for a few years now and I am always interested in food.

Well it depends on the Restaurant and its Chef obviously. Since you ask for popular choices, as a French person I always find it odd that the English can have a nice soup for starters which cuts the appetite, or cheese after coffee, but never mind, this is England, and as the saying goes, "in Rome, do as the Romans do".

  13. Starters:

    Soup of the day

Melon with summer fruits and sorbet

Smoked salmon on an oatcake and lemon dressing

Pate with oatcakes and garnished salads

    Desserts:

    Sticky Toffee Pudding

Rasberry and White Chocolate cheese cake

    Creme Brulee

  14. For starters, sausages on sticks, and spotted d**k,  for desert.

  15. soup of the day, Prawn cocktail.
