Hi guys, I have a 12" kicker cvr, 4 ohm, 400 watts rms, 800 watt peak. and right now i have an infinity amp 1300a series, pushing 200w rms at 4ohms and 300w rms at 2 ohms. So i wired my sub at 2 ohms so it hits harder. Now the question is, should I get a bigger amp. If i do will it hit harder or will it blow?

  1. stick with the one you gots bud

  2. dont go over your max watts on the sub...they will blow..trust me

  3. Hey man-

I install and do alot of JL Audio systems, and something i like to tell my customers is to keep the RMS for the sub and the amp about the same at the same Ohm stability. This makes for the perfect match of sound quality, and bass. I dont know which Kicker amp matches your 4 Ohm capability with 400 watts RMS, but thats what you should look for.

    Good Luck.

  4. just stick with what you have and do 2 ohms or if you get a second sub you can do 1ohm if your looking for more bass

  5. Dude if your woofer has an 800 watt peak then i would get another amp. All you have to worry about is getting an amp that puts out more wattage then the sub. Thats all bad. GOOD LUCK

  6. stay wit that one...thats gotta be enough wattage...
