What would be the best at home remedy for pink eye prevention?

I know that hot items will cause it to spread!.........but just wondering if there are any other remedies that will help please!

Try putting an ice pack over your eye

to help ease the pink eye.

Buy an Eye bath from the pharmacy, preferably made from glass as its easier to clean, but plastic is common. Add 4 drops of lemon to the eye bath and then fill with purified water, and rinse your eye. This prevents eye infections and can be used to treat it. Another thing that will work is colloidal silver, add that to the eye bath and rinse your eyes. This is used on newborn babies who have eye infections, in hospitals.

Avoid touching/rubbing your eye. This will add more bacteria to it.

If pink eye persists for 5 days then see a medical doctor, optamologist, or your pharmacist for advice.

If you can get to a healthfood store, get something called eyebright... It is sold as a straight herb, or tea as well. If you make a tea with 1 tsp of this to 1 cup of water, bottled and not chlorinated is the best. Boil the water first and then steep the tea and drain it when it is cool enough to use in your eye. If you have the cash to get an eyewashing cup use one of those after washing it well. If not, you must wash your hands well, have someone pour a little of this into your cupped hand and then put your eye into this and blink several  times... this is not comfortable, but if you do it, you WILL get better faster. I cannot recall how ofeten each day to do this, but I know it is several. I would recommend 2 times as that is definitely not too many, but I honestly don't know for sure that I did it three times or more a day. *Be sure to wash your hands frequently and change your towels, washcloths, pillowcases and things like that often because some pinkeye is viral and is hard to get rid of if some of your things are holding onto those viruses.You an also, additionally, not instead of, take the tea and dip a clean washcloth into it, squeeze it out gently, leaving quite damp and lie down and relax as this cloth rests on your closed eyes. Handwashing frequently is the best thing you can do to avoid many different things. Also, especially in warmer weather... if you are in the habit of sharing bath or beach towels with family, as we do at home or with roomates... don't. Yes, you may be freshly cleaned before using them, but you cannot say there isn't a bad virus clinging to them. I wish you well !!!
