  1. Aix-en-Provence.  You are near the mountains and the sea.  It is warm in the summer but not too cold in the winter.  There is a HUGE outdoor market on Saturdays.  You are only 3 hours from Paris.  It has a large art community.  The history and culture are phenominal.  It is also a university town so there is a younger crowd and lots of activities and things to do thanks to that.  Plus, it is stunningly beautiful. It is one of my favorite places in all of France.

  2. I would say Bordeaux!!!

  3. vendee area is great to live in

  4. My vote is for Caen.

  5. I would say Lyon because you would get quite a bit of culture like Paris but with a lot friendlier attitude as well as being in the heart of the great food area. You could also take an hour and a half train ride and be in Switzerland so you can experience another country easily.

  6. I live in Paris, well it's a very beautiful city, and busy too. You can have anything you want in Paris.

I personally would love to live in Annecy, it's a small city, an hour from Geneva. You can see the beauty of The Alps from there, especially in winter, when it's snowing ... it's just wonderful.

  7. St-Tropez

  8. well paris is beautiful but it is a big city and you might get annoyed with it after a while. for a smaller city i would say any village in provence =)

  9. Big city, Paris

Small town, St. Paul de Vence

  10. Of course there's no absolute answer to that question... everyone has it's one criteria.

    This might help though :

every year "Le point" magazine makes a ranking of the 100 best cities to live in france. Their articles detail the rankings along a certain number of criteria like transportation , culture, safety, sunshine, etc

This year's global ranking is here :

Their answer seem to be Nantes !!

other magazines might also do the same, with different results probably ;-) => try searching on the web for "l'express"

  11. lyon, definitely. it's a large city with a small city feel. it's got lots of history and the people in the south are always friendly. the weather is nice year round and you can get anywhere you need to go by metro/bus. it's clean and safe.

  12. huh??
