  1. Embry Riddle Aeronautical University

  2. the college is not importat to become a airline pilot you need lots of hours . a airtransport license require a lot of time three thoujsand or more hours.. also you need to know meterology. take a course in that.. you will need it .. try to learn your basics  first your private license.. then your commercial then your instrument and multi engine.. the key to what you want is time.. become a flight instructor.. or fly for a copany that does crop dusting .  and fire fighting. and jumping.. but please learn meterology .. ok there is more but i hope you get the idea.

  3. If you ask around, the name you will hear most often is Embry-Riddle.  There's a reason for that: they probably have the best and most highly-sought after professional pilot program in the world.  However, that quality comes with a price.  Before going to college, my intentions were to attend Embry-Riddle.  Upon finding out that their professional pilot program costs around $42,000/year, I looked elsewhere.  If you have the money, though, you can guarantee yourself a top-notch flying job after graduating.

(Learning to fly, regardless of how you slice it, is an expensive endeavor, so read the following with that in mind.)  Other four-year universities in the states known for their professional pilot programs are Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, or the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks.  These are cheaper alternatives, although still well respected.  I believe Purdue might also have a decent flight program.

As a previous answerer mentioned, many community colleges offer classes or programs to get your foot in the aviation door.

Yet another alternative are flight training academies.  Two big names in this industry are Flight Safety Int'l and Airline Transport Professionals.  Both of these academies have multiple locations in the US.

One nice thing about any of these is that they all offer some sort of job placement service once you're ready.  Many of the academies have ties with specific airlines, and some airlines even have their own academies.

  4. Starfleet Academy?
