What would be the best gift to a teacher????

i left school a long time ago..i wanna gift many teachers..please tell something affordable..and wat they may really like..even if it is expensive....

At the end of the school year I usually give a mini rose bush (there are a variety of colors, too)

and I type out a label saying:

"Thank you for helping me to grow, teacher"

I have elementary kids as students so I don't know what you have in mind but the teachers always get choked up with this one.

Hope this helps and it's only about $10-$15 a plant.

I know this is not what you are referring to but if you really want to know the best gift for a real and sincere teacher.   There are actually two.



The first is to just go by or call them up and say thank you.

The second takes more effort and dedication. That is to start going to the PTA and school board meetings. And help the teachers get changes made that will allow them to be truly effective in the classroom.

I guarantee if you do either one or both they will remember what you did even long after they have retired.

get a nice picture frame with a picture of you or you with the teacher... also write a note telling them how much you appreciate them.

I once had a boy in my class whose mother worked with an artist who made these hand painted metal frogs.  Collectors buy them and they go for about $2,000.  His mother gave me one for Christmas.  That was pretty cool.  Another parent gave me an autographed first edition of a  Ray Bradbury book.  But realistically (because I know those types of gifts are very unusual where I teach) a gift certificate to a bookstore is always a big winner with me.

I have been a teacher for nearly 30 years and the best gift would be a note, phone call or a visit to tell someone what they meant to you.  You could accompany that note etc with a gift certificate for a massage if you are weathy but the note or call is really enough.  

Most of the teachers are not in it for the money but because they really love affecting another person for the better.  

Do not give perfumes, bath beads, colognes etc as I know teachers with boxes of this stuff in their basements because they have gotten alot of this stuff from the kids parents for Christmas and end of the year gifts.
