I'm 16, and pretty skinny. I'm not weak however, since i work out 3 times a week and such. Also, im fairly flexible, but not too much more flexable than average. I was wondering what the best martial art would be for me to take. I havent ever taken a martial art before btw.

  1. I just started taking Krav Maga, and would recommend it to anyone. You get a taste of a lot of other MAs, (BJJ, karate, muay tai) they're incorporated. It is taught to anyone, regardless of s*x, age, or size. It is a great self defense, and is totally usable on the street. It teaches you to be at your best defensively, while at your most vulnerable. You learn to defend against punches, chokes, kicks, guns, knives, etc. Krav can get a little gruesome (trachea pokes, eye gauges), you're taught to defend for your life. It is easily learned, and a good foundation. I love it!

  2. well for a skinny guy i would say you should take either muay thai or kickboxing. also try juijitsu that way if someone ever takes you to the ground you'll know what to do. muay thai would be good for you because as you say your quite flexible and that is what most people who are skinny and flexible would go for because it suits their nature.

  3. MEXICAN JUDO......AS IN JUDONT'T KNOW WHAT YOUR MESSING WITH

  4. To be honest mate, the best way to discover the best martial art for you is by triar and error.  Take a few classes in different styles- most will welcome you in just to try out an introduction-type class.  It is only through testing the waters that you are going to know the right fit.  There is a wealth of martial arts out there so give a few a go.  You will known when the right one comes along.  Good luck.

  5. i would suggest researching maybe online or in books or magazines a little more  detailed on some of the arts.  I am assuming you would only be able to take whats available in your area?  I mean, I would love to learn capoeria for the art  of it but there is no school in my area.  Start with what you can study and/or afford as a list.  Your body type has extremely little to do with which one you should choose.  you may adapt to a style no matter what size and ability you have but if your hearts not in it, whats the point?

  6. It depends on what you are wanting to take MA for. I would suggest that you look to see what is around your area, do some research, find which style you like, then go and talk with the instructors at that school.  Find out everything that you would like to know; cost, how often do you have to go to class, belt system, requirements for test promotion.  Some schools will even allow to take a class or observe a class. If one works out for what you want then you have the best martial art for you.

  7. just do a mixed martial arts class.... Thai boxing... Brazilian jujitsu... Karate... Tae Kwon Do... basically whatever you feel
