What would be the best pet to own?

I live in Massachusetts, so there is a lot of restrictions on pets I could own. The pet I wanted was a sugar glider, but I found out that they are illegal. What is a pet that doesn't smell, wouldn't upset allergies, and like to be held and cuddled. Also i would like a pet that is nocturnal. (It can't be a dog,cat, or ferret)

Geez that cuts out almost everything when it can't be the most typical animals and it also can't ever smell lol. Get some fish!

a mouse........they are very clean and are nocturnal;they dont stink

well unfortunately all animals with fur and feathers can upset allergies, i love rats, but they can be a little stinky, same as mice. have you considered reptiles? most geckos (leos, fat tails, cresties) are nocturnal and these species like interaction. snakes like pythons and corns usually tolerate handling and all snakes are nocturnal. bearded dragons also make great pets!

i say a rat because i have three but wat I'm looking into a pig and i just asked a question about it but pigs are 4Th smartest animal and almost the cleanest

all animals smell. sorry. even sugar gliders. rats like to be held and you can even bathe them. they make great pets. but they do smell if you dont keep them clean. just like a person :)
