What would be the best resources to learn basics of Cost Accounting?

Get a schaum's self study guide book on cost accounting. Easy to learn and at your own pace.

Any cost accounting text book would be ok. For a more friendly readings, try Hansen & Mowen. For a more indepth calculyation try Matz & Usry or Usry & someone else.

Start with the entry in Wikipedia.  Once you understand it go to the library and look at what they have to offer.  Pick the book you feel most comfortable with, check it out, take it home and study it.

If you can pick a book that has an instructor's manual and check that out.  With the manual you can work the questions at the end of each chapter and have a way to check your answers.
