  1. 1992 Pittsburgh Penguins vs. 1985 Edmonton Oilers

Oilers in 7.  Average game score 6-5.

  2. It's happend already...

The best goalie "Roy", facing the best goal scorer ever "Gretzky"

    All this for the CUP...

  3. If it were possible to clone and maximize output the Punch Imlach of 1961-64 and the Scotty Bowman Canadiens of 1975-79 would be a match-up of the ages.

Keon versus Gainey as best defensive forwards.

Dryden versus Bower for pressure goalies.

Robinson vs, Horton for control if ice space.

Lafleur vs. Shack for exciting end to end rushes.

Truly a match made in heaven.

  4. San jOSE sHARKS VS . Pittsburg penguins

  5. After thinking it over for a little while of all the make-believe match-ups you could have, I went with a real match-up.

Edmonton Oilers and the New York Islanders.

The first meeting saw the veterans win, the 2nd saw youth, speed and skill win.

It was the end of one dynasty and the beginning of another.  It was a golden time for hockey.  I was just a kid then and I Idolized Gretzky the way I imagine kids idolize Crosby today, but on a grander scale.  Because nobody is as good as Gretzky was at that time and very few teams would be able to have even a chance against those NY Islanders and Oilers teams of that era.  You young'uns missed out on something special, just as I missed out on the Broad Street Bullies era of hockey, the Rocket and the leafs actually winning a cup, I am only 35.

  6. Even though it can't happen, Leafs vs. Sens.

Maybe not, watching the Senators choke is getting old.

How about another Leafs vs. Habs contest for old times sake.

Going to have to wait a while for this one though, Leafs seem to be a bit short on talent at the moment.

One with a bit more realistic chance of happening would be another original six match-up, Habs vs. Blackhawks. That would be a fun one to watch.

On the vintage side, as someone else said, '70s Habs vs. '82 Oilers or the '72 Broad Street Bullies vs. '08 Red Wings. If you can't beat them, beat 'em up.

  7. 1970s habs, 1980 oilers, two dominant teams, the two most dominant in my opinion, just practically pure hall of fame lineups, and the Great One would be in it, but i would have to give it to the habs

  8. Winnipeg Jets vs Detroit Red Wings.

I think this would be the best Stanley cup Match to date because  Winnipeg(Peg city) would go crazy. WInnipeg white out!! I would want to see this game to see how my home town would do against the current winners. I think it would go to the last game cuz teemu selane would own everyone.!!

  9. 1976-77 Montreal Canadiens vs. 1997-98 Detroit Red Wings.

  10. haha panthers against thrashers

the game will be scoreless forever
