What would be the best video cam?

Im looking for a video cam with the best quality but not too expensive.

What exactly is your price range? What format are you looking to use (Mini-dv, HDD, mini-DVD)?

I would recommend the Panasonic GS-320 as an affordable cam with nice quality ($400-$500). It is mini-dv.

The significant step up from that is the DVX100 ($2300). This is a prosumer cam that gives fantastic results. If you can afford it and are looking to make short films or event videography, it's a  great choice.
