Well, the majors i have really thought about and possibly want to pursue are interior design, architecture, and civil engineering. Which major do you think would be the easiest to get a job right out of college in and which one would i be able to work longest in? Would i be able to major in architecture and minor in interior design? I'm so confused. Help is greatly appreciated.

  1. I know someone that majored in Architecture and minored in interior design and I think it's a fabulous combination. In fact, this person did interior design work while she was in school and she made okay money.

In terms of what would be the easier to get a job in, I think it's civil engineering. Architects have to work for architecture firms in order to make any decent money out of college. Also, since it is such a specialized field, it follows that there is less turn-over. That means architects keep their jobs at these firms for a long time, making it unnecessary to bring in new people like you. Also, I have heard that engineers are increasing getting more knowledgeable in architecture and that trend has shrunk the job market for architects.

Civil engineers on the other hand could work for the government, for engineering firms, construction and so on. This means that there are many places you could work.

I mean, I don't know what the job market is for interior designers but if I were you, I would go for civil engineering and minor in interior design.

    Good luck to you!
