I've relocated to Brittany ( the west coast of france). My wife is Breton

and after 15 years in Montreal it was time to go home. I have 28 years experience driving semi in both Canada and the U.S. and am now looking for similar work here. The problem? My permit is not recognized. I've been informed that I would need to follow a 3 to 5 month course to earn a French equivalent. This would be both costly and time consuming. Has anyone had a similar difficulty?

  1. Move to Belgium for a while. Authorities in Brussels said last week that the country had a shortage of 4000 long-haul truck drivers.

You can register there as a "demandeur d'emploi" and get paid tuition. Check on the following website www.leforem.be

You should probably pass theoretical exam, then practice exam.

The Belgian licence is accepted all across Europe.
