I'm moving in with a room mate. She has 2 male cats both of whom are neutered and have had the tendonectomy surgery. I have 2 male cats also. Mine are both neutered and still have their claws, which I keep trimmed. Her cats are about a year old. One of mine is the same the other is about 4. Both of my cats are tolerant of other cats and animals, but I don't know about hers. I don't know if we'll be able to separate them in different rooms once I move in. I will be getting something of the other 2 cats to bring to my current place for my cats to get used to their smell and I will also be bringing something of my guys over to her house. Besides that any other recommendations?

  1. Hi there.. ideally, it would be quite helpful to keep the cat's in separate rooms in order to help gradually introduce the cats to one another.  The key component is to make the introductions very slowly.  There will be some growls, hissing so it's important to supervise at this stage to discourage any attacks.
