This has happened to me twice and it kinda concerns me.Once I was just sitting there when suddenly in my left eye,the top part of what I was seeing became completely obscured and I could not see anything. And then just a while ago it happened again. The whole top part of what I was seeing in my field of vision was like this light gray or dark white cloud was in the way of my vision.I closed my eyes and it was visible even though my eyes were closed.I could still see it.It was almost like someone had put a card or cloud partially over my eye and I could still see the bottom of whatever it was that I was looking at but not the top.Has anyone ever had this to happen to them or know what might be wrong ? Any info would be greatkly appreciated.Thanks.

  1. This could be many things, but the biggest concern u should have is if u have flashes or floaters. That could be a retinal detachment if u don't have any of those signs then u could have wet macular degeneration. These eye diseases are very dangerous and can cause u to lose complete eye vision in that eye. If I were u I would call ur Optometrist and have them triage u and tell them what is going on . If u have pain I would do it asap. If u have ever had cataract surgery u could have a film that grew behind the lense, but if u haven't then u need to be seen asap!!

  2. It could be a number of things....If you have decreased blood flow to the peripheral vessels of your eye this could happen.  It could also be an ocular migraine or vitreous floaters.  You should see your eye care provider to rule out the more dangerous conditions.

  3. yes it happened to me a few years back.  have a complete physical  done. mine was caused by deteriorating heart valves.

  4. I agree, get to an eye doctor as soon as possible.  This could be a retinal detachment, which is very serious.  If you have this problem even with your eyes closed, it means something is probably going on in the back of your eye, and you don't want to take chances with your retina.  Sometimes temporary vision loss can also be associated with migraines.  I would get this checked out as soon as possible, though.

  5. You need to go see an Ophthalmologist immediately!!!!  It sounds like you have a retinal detachment to me.  If that is what it is, you could go blind in that eye if left untreated.
