What would be the coolest way to turn a vampire into a human again (for a story)?

well because its a fiction book anything goes. so with that in mind...

what say your vampire character didnt want to be turned back? what if he had discovered power beyond that of a mortal human and liked it. your main cast would have to trick him somehow. they devise a potion that when taken by a vampire, will return them to human form, however if taken by a human then they will perish. knowing that the potion cannot be put into him by force or hidden in one of the meals, one of your characters elects to drink the potion and have the vampire bite him/her.

but then, what if the plan failed? what if the vampire saw through the trap? he strikes down the poisoned character, seriously wounding him/her, then your main character comes in and duels the vampire. and at the last moment when all seems lost, the poisoned character jumps between the main and the vampire, taking the vampires sword in the back, and in one final effort she thrusts the bloodied sword into the vamp, mixing their blood and making the vamp human again.

the poisoned character eventually gives into the toxins and dies, the ex-vampire begs for forgiveness and...

well your the writer, fill in that last bit.

oh! wait! this one is just working off of "bambi's" idea. the one about not being able to see their reflection in a mirror.

just so that you dont have to do all that researching about latin words, what if the mirror was something ancient? an artifact that was said to show not what is, but what was. a mirror that displays the past. and then a magic glyph is drawn up near the mirror that the vampire must stay inside for a certain amount of time before the mirror can take effect, this adds a certain suspenseful quality to the last chapter. your main characte has to talk to the vampire long enough and/or duel the vampire, all the while making sure that he stays in the glyph.

He could clone body parts till he had enough to replace his vampire body into one that is human.

If the vampire is female, perhaps become pregnant and carry a child, in essence inviting souls into her empty shell.

Maybe a Deity could grant them soul again.  They could brave the Underworld for their own soul.

Maybe calling on one of the Sun Gods, Apollo, or Ra maybe.  They could do tasks for these gods to prove they're worthy of living body and soul.  If the gods are pleased they will grant the vampire to walk in the sun and have life.

Vampires can't see their own reflection right?  so say there's this magic mirror that can show a vampire their reflection.  (make up a spell in Latin)  - Begin to chant spell and force the vampire to gaze upon the mirror, the mirror then sucks the 'curse of the vampire' from that person and traps the vampire inside the mirror.  The mirror must then be destroyed, thus the vampire is human again.

I have a suggestion. You know how in the Harry Potter's Sorcerrers Stone, the mirror shows the thing you desire most? Well have the vampire see his reflection, and make him wonder whether a TRUE vampire would be able to see its reflection. After a series of quests (he meets an Oracle), he will finally realize he is stuck with the curse. Have him try to commit suicide, but since hes already dead, he will never die. After he truly accepts being a vampire will he be ready to become human. The Oracle (mentioned above) will let him turn human, if he would suffer to die and be bound to h**l. The vampire accepts, knowing that when he dies, he will suffer an even worse fate than being a vampire.

His body began to burn and began to take a dramatic transformation, His sharp teeth(or whatever theyre called, i think its fangs?im not sure) began to diminish in size, his body began to take on the subtle form of a human. As he walked toward a mirror he slowly began to see his reflection to appear. First his hand, then as if it were a snake coming out of the sand the rest of his arm took shape. The Vampire shouted in his anguishing pain but nothing could relieve him. His pale face began to regain a rich vabrant color of human skin, his thirst for blood fled from his everwanting lust, his depleted eyes began to change into those of a tired human as he screamed his last shout of pain! He fell to the ground, no longer a monster, no longer a bringer of darkness, no longer of a taker of life, but as a human who had suffered extreme pain as part of his life, as part of his own body! departed from him, and left him as nothing but a defenless human with life and a future, with light and hope.  

Woe on the vampire who set his eyes on the beuty of the Madora For so his fate shall be sealed, and he shall lust blood no more..."
