What would be the gas mileage on a 1966 chevy impala with a V8?

i dont no what kind of v8 it is but all i no is that it has one ,

probably around 17-20

If it's the stock engine they were 283 Cu In. With a two barrel carb and reasonable driving habits they'd get between 15 & 20 MPG. If they had the 3 speed manual transmission W/electric Overdrive they'd do even better, on the highway. If the engine has been replaced with something bigger then there's no telling what the gas mileage might be.

It can vary hugely, without knowing anything about the engine.

Worst case, 454 big block, carb, not running right, and lots of drivetrain loss, 4-5mpg

best case, 327 small block, fuel injection, aired up tires, non dragging brakes, 15-22mpg
