Well, the pattern is the 2 numbers add up to the third: 1+2=3

Next, 2+3=5, so going according to this, the next number would be 13+22, which is equal to 35.

22 is not right, it should be 21.

However, it is a fibonocci sequence.  One term is the sum of the previous two.  3 = 1 + 2

                     5 = 3 + 2

                     8 = 5 + 3

                      etc.
