What would be the salary off an M.A. in English literature who wants to become a proffessor?

I have passed class 10 in icse. i was wondering wether i should take up english literature as one of the subjects in ISC but for that i need to know what is the scope and what are the salaries and jobs for an M.A. in english literature. not only that, i also like teaching and sharing my knowledge. so guys just help me out in this!

Well, you won't get a job at a 4-year college or university with only a masters degree - you need a PhD.  A community college will hire people with masters degrees.  However, there are a lot of English grads out there looking for work, so the competition is pretty fierce.  Here's a good site that lists current job openings at colleges in the US, what they are looking for in candidates, and how much they pay.  http://www.higheredjobs.com

The salary would be a cuple 1000 dollars real trap because they alot of big stuff like the thing they do with the buildings that they knock down.

depends where you get a job.  if you went this far with your education, u should know what to expect as far as your salary
