my tenenats are reporting that the garbage disposal is cracked and leaking. When I moved out of the house 2 months ago it was fine but my property manager says the crack looks old. I have no idea how old the disposal is. It was in the house when I moved in 3 years ago. we've never had a problem with it until now. the rest of the plumbing under the sink is fine

  1. old age.

  2. Are you sure your property manager knows what he is looking at? If it was fine and not leaking 2 months ago, it isn't an old leak.

I have had some tenants who just wanted the newest appliances and did what they could to destroy the stuff that was in there.

So the disposal is over 3 yrs old. It shouldn't have broken. How about taking it out and just having straight to the sewer line water dump. Or you can replace it and make it known to the tenants that if it breaks they will replace it - contract signature on that item.
