What would cause a greenish looking bruise on the inner thighs of a two month old?

It is on the inside of both of her legs. Not sure if it is from the diaper dye or what.

Any ideas or experiences with this?

  1. if it is truly a bruise, it would only be green after it has started to heal, meaning it would have been there before it was green and been the regular purplish color...they go kinda purplish/brownish, greenish, yellowish, and finally back to normal....so if it is not a bruise then it is possibly from a diaper or something, but that's a weird place for a two month old to have a bruise...depending on where it is, i know i pad the piece that goes in between my dd's legs on the swing bc it is hard and she loves to kick the **** out of it and i didn't want her to bruise...any poss thing like that she could have bruised it on? but surely you would have noticed it before now by changing diapers and bathing...hum...dunno unless it is some sort of ink or dye...do you have other kids that maybe got perm marker or something on her and then tried to clean it off? LOL sorry couldn't help more...

  2. Ive never heard of diapers having dye. Is there anything that could have hit your baby, or fell on him/her? Or anything they could have got their leg caught in?

  3. You may have clipped her leg by accident while buckling her in the carseat.

Being 2 months old, I don't think you've put her in a jumperoo or exersaucer yet- so I don't think that would have caused it.

  4. Maybe she's been wriggling round an got her legs caught between the bars on her cot?

Has sombody been a bit rough with her, has she been left with a babysitter or somethin recently or been hit or had something fall on her?

If not then green bruseing can be a sign something is wrong with her kidneys.

  5. My baby had that. It was from the strap in his carseat. Make sure its not too tight or pinching her.

  6. Never heard of dyes either! Has she been sitting in a jolly jumper or seat etc? Maybe nappies might have been to tight at some stage! But if really concerned take her and let the docs have a look
