Question:

What would cause a huge lump underneath the armpits?

I have been getting these lumps under both my armpits for quite sometime now. They hurt so bad sometimes but when it gets to the point of where I feel like going to the doctor, they always go away. This time, it's different. I have a huge lump under my left arm and it burst. Now it's draining out pus and blood, and it stinks! What could this be and what should I do to prevent this from happening again? Can a doctor give me some sort of antibiotic or something for it?

  1. It could be something like a staph infection.  Yes, you can be put on antibiotics to help them go away.  Tell the doctor about what's been going on, and have them prescribe antibiotics for it (if they think that's a good idea of course).  Get the prescription filled so you can use it next time one pops up.

Also, if you shave your armpits, be sure to switch your razor often.  It could be dragging bacteria into open wounds, causing the infections.

  2. Sounds like the Bubonic Plague.....

  3. if you have implants it could be your body rejecting them if not it could simply be a blocked sweat gland just go to doc to be sure!!
