  1. It is not unusual for a women in her early 40's to be having this situation. Her body is more then likely preparing itself to enter menopause.  Also alot of women of this age  also have fibroid tumors which will explain the severe pain. I would make an appointment with your gyn for a complete check up and blood work.

    Good luck.

  2. Most common reason is fibroid tumors and or menopause. Make an appointment to see your GYN.

  3. well it depends... if u got ur period at a very young age like 9 then it could be the beggining of menopause..

This happened to my mother she is 41 and she is in the first stages of menopause...

But make an appointment with ur gyn.. and have ur hormones checked...

  4. Sounds like menopause Hon, peri-menopause at the very least...make a gyno appointment and don't worry....for a while there I was getting periods so heavy on the second day I swore somebody turned on a faucet....and sometimes it would be as little as two-three weeks in between for a few months then back to my normal every 30 days like clockwork..only the second day was always ridiculously heavy for a few hours and I went from it lasting 4 days to 8-9.....

A pelvic, a pap and blood work to check your hormone levels Will tell the story....I started in my forties, now I'm 55 and down to a period every 5-7 months, and so barely there what's the point...and I check out fine with every gyno exam lol wait 'til the hot flashes start...they will....once you've been period free for 12 months your considered finished with menopause.....good luck.
