  1. Eye strain.Too much reading,poor lighting.

  2. Do your eyes hurt when you move them?  How long has it been going on?  Maybe sinus or muscles in your eyes. Or some kind of migraine.  Also glaucoma can cause pain in your eyes.

"proudaussie" is right about your eye doctor checking for glaucoma and a lot of times he can actually get clues about problems within the brain.

The test for glaucoma is when they puff a little bit of air in your eye.  Did they do that in your eye exam?

With glaucoma, you would be taking eye drops to fix the problem.  But you need a diagnosis to know what exactly you are dealing with.

  3. The eye doctor would have told you if you had glaucoma as that is one of the eye problems he diagnoses. Have a look at the following:

I would suggest that you talk to your normal doctor and discuss all the symptoms that you have and tell him/her what the eye doctor told you. It may be nothing to be worried about but the doctor might suggest a brain scan just to make sure. Important thing is don't depend on quick solutions like information on the internet, only a live trained professional can give you proper medical attention.

  4. I agree that it could definitely be a migraine...do you get any visual disturbances? Try lying down in the dark, in a cool room... I get pain behind the eyes with some of my migraines. good luck- hope you feel better soon!
