What would cause the air to smell like this?

hi there its been smelling pretty wierd outside latley my daughter describes it as a f**t smell lol. but it smells like sulfur. its been about 100 degrees for the whole week can that have something to do with it? but everywhere i go it smells, inside or out, to the store... i live in san jose if that helps and has anyone ever experienced this before?

  1. If there is rotting vegetation anywhere, and it is out of the air (eg; in a stagnant pool, or buried under mud or silt), then the rotting vegetation may give off hydrogen sulphide, or 'rotten egg gas'.  This is called 'marsh gas', because it is often smelt in marshes.


  2. If you have any ponds or water tank in your area look for the live fish are they survive. There are several reson for eminating sulpher smell.But since the question appears in earth science I like to remind you one thing. Human Headache, nausea, urge to vomit, giddiness, dizziness, heart complaints, nervous ,disorders, hysteria, bad weather symptoms may occur before earthquakes,
