What would converting 30fps to 24P accomplish? What's the difference?

Is 24p higher quality than 30 or whats the deal with that?

  1. some videographers are asked to shoot video that will be used as part of a motion picture film. shooting at 24p insures the video can be added to the film with minimum conversion artifacts. Film is shot at 24 strictly as an economy measure, it is the slowest speed that does not flicker and even then the room has to be darkened. If you do not plan on running your video through a motion picture projector, then 30 is the better choice as many older CRT type television sets cannot adjust to a 24 frame rate, and you can use VHS to send out demos. VHS does not work at 24 either.


  2. Film cameras record at 24 fps - the idea is to use a video camera but record something that looks like film.  There's a lot more to it than just the frame rate though - have a look at the link if you're interested.
