and be lost and its impossible to catch a bird

My biggest fear. if mine got out they would be cat food!  When the windows are open and they are vocal cat's show up that we don't even know.  They wouldn't be smart enough to fly away and the c**k little things try to mess with the house cat.

They wouldn't survive for long as they don't know how to forage for food or where to find water.

They would be gone from your home, but enjoying the wonderful world.  Birds are very adaptable.

Unless you are very close to it and you have a thing where you call him and he perches on your arm you won't be able to get it back. Especially if there are large trees and other tall buildings around.

Around here, any domestic bird would quickly become a meal for an owl, raven, crow, or hawk.
