What would happen if Bob Barr won Texas...?

Question

Since both McCain and Obama missed the deadline to be put on the ballot - making Barr the only candidate legally on the ballot?

"Due to errors on the part of Republicans and Democrats, both McCain and Obama have failed to file ballot access papers in Texas. Bob Barr, the Libertarian nominee for president, will therefore be the only candidate on the ballot in November..."

(Of course, the state is "making an exception" for McCain and Obama... but I would argue that they should not be allowed to!)

Well, both McCain and Obama missed their filing deadlines to get on the Texas ballot, so if the election commission would stop being a bunch of evil b******s, then there is a chance that this could happen. If Bob Barr were to win Texas, then it would be much more difficult for either candidate to win the 270 electoral votes needed. If neither candidate can do this, then the House of Representatives will choose the next president. Obama would be the most likely choice.

I think that not only should an exception be made for Obama and McCain, but that Bob Barr should be kept off the ballot.  I think it is high time we put an end to this third party nonsense until they can show that they can get a decent size following.  I think if any third party candidate can poll at over 20%, they deserve a chance.  Otherwise, what is the point other than to ruin the election for the candidates who matter?

Edit: Speak for yourself, Mr. Anti-American.  You are the one who is suggesting that the two main candidates who are polling over Bob Barr by wide margins should be excluded from the race in Texas.

If Bob Barr won Texas it would make it almost impossible for Mccain to win the presidency

Texas is a SOLID Republican Red State

Obama would still have a very good chance to get the 270 electoral votes needed to win

The only problem with voting for Barr is that it would take a vote away from McCain.  I really do not think Obama is ready to run this country.

So I have to vote McCain/Palin because NO OBAMA!!
