If I changed my fuses in my car with a 5A fuse and I changed it to 20A fuse, will there be any benefits of the change?

  1. There is a higher risk of damaging whatever component is on the other end of the fuse if too much electricity gets through, so  be careful to only use the fuses your manual tells you to use, or your car might even catch fire(and I dont say that to be funny either)

  2. Yeah, that's not a very good thing to do at all.  You should def. put a 5A back in there right this second.  Right now, get up, and do it!

  3. The only "benefit" you would see is increased risk of fire or component damage should a circuit short out.

  4. A 5A fuse allows only 5 amps to flow through before blowing.  A 20A fuse will allow 20 amps to flow before blowing.  You will have to ask yourself where this extra electricity is going.  If there is a short circuit, that electricity will turn into heat and fire.

  5. no if you did you would be able to pull too much current through the circuit and damage the components and a possible fire.

  6. u would blow up.
