  1. probly best to tape the throttle wide open and redline the motor in neutral for as long as the gas lasts.....good luck

  2. It is not going to do it any good. and if it is air cooled the engine parts on the high side are going take a beating.

  3. it's nto good on the engine, but it won't cause any catastrophic failure (unless a weakness already existed)

  4. The valves will get carbon deposits over time, then damage the seals and other engine components, rule of thumb is weather it's a bike, lawn mower or car and so on is to run it 30 seconds before using, every time the 4 stroke engine fires (power stroke) it's 5,000 degrees in the combustion chamber,so it really is not a good idea to do that.Eventually it will also cause damage to the spark arrester (exhaust system)

  5. waste alot of gas, and would shorten the life of the

    engine..

  6. first, it's not good.

if you let it idle on it's stand, oil flow will not be even and will eventually burn up the high side of the engine. there is no need to idle the bike for an hour everyday. if you are doing this to keep parts lubed, battery good, just start it up and take it for a drive, 10 minutes will be fine.

again, there is no reason to let the bike idle everyday for an hour.

  7. I presume it is your own quaint way to run-in a new engine.  Well whatever be the reason, this engine is really tough and so, besides a sheer waste of good fuel, nothing else is gonna happen.

If it is question of warm-up, such a long wait period is quite unnecessary.  The engine has its own monitoring system and can take very good care of itself.  So put your mind at rest.

Sometimes, after a new rebuild job with new pistons and stuff, a bench run has to be carried out.  At such a time, it is advisable to rest the engine after every 10 to 15 minutes, with an equal time given to cool off before continuing with the procedure.
