  1. Only if you like having photographers dog you day and night, taking photos of you all the time, no matter what you're doing, it's impossible to go out in grubbies and just relax...

Well, I suppose if you aren't as attractive as Diana, you might not have QUITE as much trouble with them, but, no.  I doubt it's really a good life.  It looks charming from the outside, but I'm sure you would get pretty tired of it pretty quickly.

And that isn't exclusive to the British family.  The crown princess of Norway has developed anorexia from all the attention and the princess of Asturias (wife of the future king of Spain) also has been accused of having an eating disorder.

    It's a lot of pressure.

  2. If you call being hounded by photographers "the good life" - Diana hated that aspect (except when the publicity suited HER)

If you married a minor royal you may get away with it - Sophie Wessex, wife of Prince Edward, gets little press attention, and has a fairly ordinary job too.

Marry higher up and you may even become a queen (not a queen regnant like Elizabeth, you have to be BORN royal for that to happen) - though a man marrying a queen is never made a king.

  3. you would probably be a royal pain in the ***.

  4. There are more examples of royalty divorces, and health and mental issues suffered by "Princesses" by marriages rather than the "happily ever after" fairytale scenarios. The late Diana, Princess of Wales suffered depression, emotional and mental distress after her marriage to Prince Charles. Sarah, Duchess of York and Prince Andrew's marriage was experiencing trouble and the couple had drifted apart due to Prince Andrew's frequent royal and military duties miles away from their home.

Letizia, Princess of Asturias was suffering from stress and possibly anorexia for a short period of time. Her relationship with the rest of the Spanish royal family, especially with her "royal father-in-law" Juan Carlos I of Spain went sour when she "failed" to produce a male heir to carry on the Spanish bloodline, after giving birth to the two Princesses. Masako, Crown Princess of Japan and wife to the current heir of Japan was suffering from depression and immense pressure to produce an heir. After seven years of trying to conceive a child and suffered from a miscarriage, she finally gave birth to a girl. The pressure continued with the addition of her desire to engage in political activities as an diplomat (as a career she desired to pursue the life of a diplomat).

  5. You wouldn't.

  6. It is what it is. If you married into German royalty, chances are your life would be basically normal. Since royalty in Germany hasn't been official since 1918, they aren't harassed.

  7. Well, Princess Diana didn't think so and neither did Sarah, the Duchess of York.  Both were made to English princes and heirs to throne and both divorced them.  Sarah Ferguson even wrote a book I believe about how difficult it was being a royal.

  8. What a strange question! I suppose you would not.

  9. then i would love to be your friend as when i get married maybe you could fly the royal air force helicopter (like prince england boy harry or james)just did.and we would hang out.

  10. hmmm. ur whole life would probably change. you'll probably experience wonderful things you've never done, like travel the world, press conferences, meet important people, etc. plus, you'll be attacked and hound by paparazzis everywhere. i think its hard though, not always the good life. in one way or another, the press will get irritating and well, end of your good life.

  11. Your life ends up being under microscope, even more if you marry into one of the more prominent royal families like the British Monarchy.  Your likely to be followed by paparazzi. The only peace and privacy  you might ever get is behind closed doors of your estate. Then again there is always the risk that someone on your staff could betray you.

Of course if you someone married someone that was lower in line for throne you might not get as much attention.  However you’d probably still be expected to “mind your peas and q’s” carry yourself a certain way in public.
