Question:

What would happen if I put a brand new Mother board in my computer with the latest Intel-processor??

My comp is ten years old with win 2000 on it, xp-pro,sp3. As you know windows does not support 2000 anymore and I cant run the latest software. You will say NEW COMP, but what would happen IF?

  1. it wouldn't work, the other hardware is too old


  2. Sorry, you're probably going to have to scrap the whole computer. It's too outdated and old. I recommend getting a new one.

  3. There's no reason you couldn't hook up your hard drives to a new motherboard with IDE plugs and install Windows XP or Vista. I have 5 1/2 year old IDE hard drives in my new computer, though I'm planning to upgrade to SATA soon. Your video card will still fit in the ports but it won't play new games. And you'll probably need a different kind of RAM for the new mobo. Mix and match to save money is my motto. Why buy a new computer when you have lots of useful parts like speakers, mouse, monitor, etc.
