What would happen if I told my friend he's special?

What would happen if I tell a friend of mine whom I'm in love with that he's very special to me and always will be?

Will he get the idea that I'm interested in a relationship when he's ready? He's single.

Never know the outcome til u go 4 it   My x- friend now fiance wondered the same thing til he decided to go for it. We also have a baby on the way. I wish he would have let me know how he felt a lot sooner, all 7 yrs. we were only friends we could have hooked up sooner.
