What would happen if I took restoril during the day?

My doctor prescribed me restoril for anxiety and insomnia.. but it doesn't put me to sleep at all, it just relaxes me. So my question is what would happen if I took it during the day when i feel like i'm really stressed out? Would I pass out? Is it just like a big xanax?

It's chemically similar to Xanax.  It may well help your anxiety if you take it during the day, as long as you're able to do what you need to do while taking it.  If you take too much of it, you could pass out, or not remember what you did while you were on it.

But if you need something for anxiety during the day, you might want to ask your doctor for something else, and try another sleeping pill if you need it (like Lunesta or Rozerem).
