  1. I think, traditionally, when a king is g*y, he covers it up discreetly.  He is usually married, and tries to have children, for the sake of the crown, though there have been some notable cases where a prince might have been known to have been g*y, I don't think there has ever been a king that was openly known.  Many have been impotent or sterile, leading to a change of lineage, but a g*y king who did not have children because of that...I don't think it has happened since Roman times.  (Caligula and maybe Nero).

In today's more liberal climate, I think you might really mean "what would happen if a g*y king wanted to be openly married to another man?"

This, I'm pretty sure, wouldn't be likely to be allowed.

  2. There have been g*y or bisexual kings in the past. They'd probably make him marry a woman for appearances sake, and then "look the other way."

  3. I think we've all questioned Charles at some point...married to a beautiful woman and left her for his hound dog.

  4. No king or Queen would ever accept a homosexual son or daughter. they would probably keep it under wraps.  and make them marry someone from a different s*x.i doubt they would ever acknowledge the fact their kid is g*y .

  5. Historically, there were quite a few bisexual English/British Kings that ruled over England, the most famous one being James I & VI of England and Scotland. He had two male lovers and openly kissed and embraced them in his court. However, he was still married to Anne of Denmark and sired children with her.

Nowadays, although same-s*x marriages are widely excepted in public and in some churches, it is still frowned upon and forbidden by the British royal family or any royal family. Even if there was a "royal g*y member" at the moment, it would be a dark secret that would not be publicised.

In order for any royal members to marry, they need to recieve a "blessing" from the monarch, who would probably not tolerate same-s*x marriages within the British royal family. In addition, if that person wants to retain its position in the line of succession, he must be a member of the Church of England. So far, the Church of England will deny blessings for same-s*x unions too.

  6. They would cover it up like they covered up Harry in Afganistan

  7. Doesn't Charles have a g*y brother? I hear he is fond of sailors.

  8. Erm...g**s can marry, in the UK it's called a civil partnership. I think there are and have been g*y royals but it is all swiftly covered up. Take for example Viscount Linley. Here in the UK, we weren't allowed to name the royal who had had g*y s*x and taken drugs, but he was named around the world. I don't think marriage would be accepted but private 'liaisons' would be overlooked.

  9. pain in the butt?

  10. Sssssssshhhhhhhuuuuuuuuuuuunnnnnn!!!!!

  11. "Erm...g**s can marry, in the UK it's called a civil partnership."

That's not a marriage. It's a political designation which recognizes two people of the same s*x who share their lives together and makes it easier to allocate pensions and benefits, but it is not technically marriage.

I understood that the Viscount Linley incident was pure and simple blackmail. Nothing has been proven in court. Viscount Linley is married and has children. Several seedy characters thought they could get some cash out of him, but he went directly to the police. I don't think he'd do that if he was g*y or bi-sexual.

  12. A) Not much.  Too many of them (Edward VII, etc.) have been g*y to make much difference now.

    B) No.  Even in England g**s cannot marry.

    C) Moot point.

    D) Harry and Wills.

    Pax.
