A couple of weeks ago I had a bad scare when my toy poodle swollowed one of my brothers percocet pain pills. Luckly we made it to the er vet on time for nothing to happen to her but since I have wondering what if would've did to her had we not made it when we did. Would it kill a 10 lb dog?

  1. Probably. Humans are (roughly) 150lbs and up, 15 times heavier than your dog. So 1 pill in your dog is like 15 pills in a human.

  2. Probably. Your dog is very small, so even one pill would do something very bad. I think Toy breeds don't have a very strong immune system. I THINK.

  3. for a dog that small it probably could have

  4. unfortunately she would probably have died =( good thing that you bought her strait to the vet

  5. Eventually, yes it would possibly have killed her, but not before severe convulsion, and pain to the dog.

  6. Possible! Keep all medicine away from dogs! That was so good you took it to the vet!

  7. It's a possibility.  I believe percocet contains oxycodone as well as acetaminophen (tylenol).  Acetaminophen is toxic to dogs; Oxycodone by itself is actually safe, however I'm sure the pill your dog ate far exceeded the recommended dosage for a 10 lb dog (not to mention it also contained acetaminophen).
