  1. If there were any other passengers on the plane, they too would die at the same time, unless someone on the plane was a pilot or could be "talked down" on the radio. Chances of winning the lottery are probably higher that both pilots having simultaneous heart attacks, nowever!!

  2. Well then all passengers are now the unluckyest people in the free world so if anyone survives then they are now the luckyest! They had better go buy a lottery ticket now.

  3. tear the page with your name and portrait from your passport and stick it into your lower end... this will help to recognize the corpses.

  4. they'll take the passengers with them..

  5. You would have a disaster movie.

  6. thanks alot, very unlikely thou.

  7. That would really suck, wouldnt it?

  8. You never watched "Snakes on a Plane?"""

  9. Well that would never happen would it , pilots have something that is called a 1class airmans certificate and have to be very healthy.

  10. Chuck Norris would fly the plane to safety

  11. Would never happen...but if did, its not like the plane would plummet to the ground.  The autopilot and FMS would fly the plane for some time, depending on the duration of flight, and something could be done.  Although an autoland system does exhist, you need to intercept the localizer before arming the system, or it won't work.

  12. If both died at the same time, you're probably out of luck! Not to mention you're having a really bad day! (So are the pilots for that matter!) If for no other reason than nobody in the back of the plane would realize it! Even if they did, in the post 9/11 environment, getting into the cockpit might be a bit of an issue as well!

Of course many flights have off duty crewmembers and other folks with piloting expertise, so there's always a chance you could make it out okay (or at least with minor injuries).

  13. some one will contact the control tower and flip the auto pilot on and autoland on so the planes on board computer can safely fly and land the plane automatically

When everything is armed and then engaged it will fly the approach hands free down to a nice landing and if the auto brakes are armed it will bring the plane to a full stop pretty much on the centerline

  14. the blow up doll auto pilot will take over.

  15. The stewardess would take over, as in the movie "Airport"

  16. well the 3rd in command pilot( Flight Engineer/relieve pilot) or anyone who has the ability and skill to man an aircraft should take over and thats me haha

  17. Wow, quite the optimist we have here!  Actually, almost all flights have another qualified airline pilot riding as a passenger.  There are a lot of pilots who commute on airline flights.

  18. Not that this has even the most remote chance of happening, but I actually asked this question to a flight attendant a few weeks ago while flying from Memphis to Orlando.

She said that due to FAA regulations regarding cockpit sterilization, if anything happened to incapacitate the flight deck crew, there is NOTHING that anyone can do. The door to the cockpit can ONLY be opened from the inside, and you would play h**l trying to breech it from the cabin - just like it is supposed to work.

There would be no remote activation of an auto-pilot system, no remote activation of the auto-land functions of the auto-pilot (that answer was pretty funny), and no way to fly the aircraft  to a safe landing.

The result is not hard to picture:

Basically, you would fly around on whatever heading the auto-pilot or trim settings were set to until the aircraft ran out of fuel, at which time the aircraft would lose power and crash, potentially giving you several hours to ponder your fate, and get right with your God.

Should the aircraft's flight path cause it to stray over any population centers, I am sure that armed military aircraft COULD be dispatched to remove the afflicted aircraft from the "threat matrix": Engaging the aircraft with either cannon fire or missiles in order to bring the plane down in a relatively safer area, reducing the risk to innocent  people on the ground.

Or, someone (a passenger or cabin crew-member) could maybe open one of the emergency exits on the aircraft, exposing the cabin to explosive decompression and loss of oxygen, and thereby sparing those on board a long, drawn out death.

  19. Put your head between your knees and kiss your *** goodbye.  Your going down!

  20. Go to heaven at the same time...

  21. I will take over.
