  1. It might burn because pastry takes longer to cook than bread. Not recommended.

  2. Bread pie?

  3. It wouldn't taste very good ...  Sort of like pie filling on toast (except where it was soggy & uncooked on the bottom)

  4. if you cannot make pastry you can buy ready made puff pastry and shortcrust pastry in the supermarkets. Some of it is already rolled out so you just put it on top. Look for it in the fridge section.

  5. If your talking about using bread dough in a raw state as a substitute for pasty your results would be mixed, depending on how much liquid there was in the pie filling. If you wanted to try this I suggest just a topping of bread dough (no base). It might also help if the (pie) filling was not too close to the dough.  To help this you could use an upside down egg cup sat in the middle of the filling to stop the bread dough from sinking into the filling.

Personally I would approach it from a different and simpliar angle.

Go to a good bread store buy a boule (round ball) shaped loaf.

Cut a horizontal slice off to create a "lid".

Scoop out most of the middle of the bread but leave 1/2 inch at the bottom.  Heat up your pie filling and pour into the bread "bowl" and top with the lid.

  6. Ew. It would get soggy and probably a bit gummy and fall apart.

  7. Dude forget it.  If you use bread dough it will rise and destroy, besides pie crust dough is use to keep the filling in one place, bread dough will absorb it and make it nasty.

  8. I've flattened it out and used as crust for a pizza pie!

  9. It would be called bread pie

  10. I did that once, on a camping trip.  It's not awful, but it's not great, either.
