  1. atmospheric pressure increases. all the objects even the living beings in the earth r thrown out from the surface of the earth. obviously leading to destruction. pray to god this should not happen. NICE QUESTION dear.

  2. Then some very basic laws of the universe will have been overturned. That is a zero probability event you're talking about there, it can't happen.

  3. The obvious answer is that any force capable of doing that would certainly impart enough energy to return the earth to its molten state of 4 billion years ago.  However, if it just stopped with no adverse effects, there would be other side effects.  One is that the earth would become less oblate due to the lack of centripital force, and become spherical instead, probably rupturing the crust while creating huge amounts of geologic upheaval.  And if that didn't happen, we would just have 365 day "days", probably just as catastrophic as anything else.

  4. If the earth stops suddenly, all the buildings will collapse down.

Further, every day and every night will be of a period of 6 months. The place that will not face the sun will suffer night as well as extreme winter and the other face will suffer day as well as summer.

So human life could be a nomadic life in which we would change our place of residence after every six months cuz we cannot live in extreme winter.

  5. Then all the plants and animals would die out from the side of the earth covered by the moon... Then one day the dark side of the earth (lol) would start eroding and then some of the parts of the core of the earth would get cold, and then one day, the center of the earth would not be hot anymore. Oh yes, and plants and animals (including humans) would die because of overexposure to UV rays or or just burn up because they're getting too dry... THE APOCALYPSE!

  6. The earth would fall into a real yin-yang concept, with one side of the world being dead and the other side would be overfilled with life, we would be able to see the both ends of the life spectrum, and to be completely honest it would be really cool. Our gravity would alter and things would be screwed up, I do not know if we would necessarily die....it would still be cool

  7. If it stopped dead, anything not firmly attached would shoot off at the speed the surface was moving at before it stopped. At the equator that's over 1000 miles an hours.

If it stopped gradually then not a lot would happen immediately.

Once it had stopped though, one side would permanently be facing the sun and one side would permanently face away which would result in the side near the sun being too hot to live in and the side facing away being too cold to live in. There'd be a small band where life could be supported around the middle.

There would also be no day and night so anything that relied on that would die.

  8. then its boogie time!the sun wont rise!

  9. We all die.

  10. Well since the surface at the equator is moving at around 1,000 mph, if it stopped suddenly you wouldn't have anything to worry about because you would be dead. All h**l would break loose and just about everything would be destroyed from the tremendous deceleration, except for very extreme northern and southern latitudes where the surface is moving much slower.

Then again if the earth slowed down very gradually it would eventually reach the point where you would have the illusion of the sun circling the earth once a year. Those in darkness would freeze to death and those in light would burn to a crisp, unless each of us had one of those 3 million dollar suits like our astronauts wear.
