  1. If you don't have a license, permit, or any form of identification, expect to be arrested and detained until the police can verify who you are.  They need to arrest you because if they were barred from doing so, every person with warrants would claim that they forgot their identification.

If you are on a permit and you break the terms of the permit by driving without it, it is very likely that you will lose the permit altogether.

  2. You would get ticketed for driving without a license. Whether they or not they would impound your car or allow you to contact a licensed driver to come and get the car depends on the municipality and the cop. In some municipalities you might forfeit the vehicle(they take it, you get nothing). This is especially likely if the vehicle isn't registered or insured.

In my state(PA) the penalty for driving with out a license(first offense) is:

You lose any credit on the offense you got your license suspended for. So if you were 8 months into a year suspension you would have to repeat that entire year, then they would tack on another year. If it is a DWI suspended license you go to jail for 60-90 days and there is no way to get out of it

  3. You would be arrested for driving without a license and held in jail until you are arraigned and can make bail.

Your car would be towed and impounded. In some cases, if another person is in the car with you that has a license and can drive, the police MIGHT let them take the car for you.

You would be tried for the criminal offense of operating a motor vehicle without a license. What wouold happen there would depend on your criminal history and the state where the offense occurred.

  4. if i were the cop who stopped you and you were a "keeper" then i would take you to jail and tow your car...in TX if you do not have a valid driver's license then you do not have valid insurance...so long story short you go to jail and i spend 6-7 minutes typing an easy arrest report...

  5. If they just stop you for no reason they might not tow the car.  If you have committed a traffic violation they will give you a ticket and probably tow the car away.  In other words, don't drive without a license or permit.
