  1. It only happened once in my life, but I stopped thinking for like a nano second. I remember how it felt. There was nothing there. I was meditating at the time. Maybe you can create your own technique on meditating and see what happens...

  2. I also suffer from anxiety, I remember I was out with a bunch of friends who don't know about my anxiety and all of a sudden I couldn't bear to have my eyes open, I was very scared for no reason at all, as with all anxiety related funny things it does pass, hopefully It would be the same for thinking,

  3. I get this quite often, usually around 3-4am. For many years I have had to switch on the BBC World Service and the Radio 4 just to drown my thoughts. Sometimes I would go to sleep and dream I was arguing with some idiot.  I knew the right answer and was trying to say it, but this person would just keep on saying stupid things and completely ignoring me as if I did not exist nor had any right to.  In fact, it was the Today programme and they were interviewing a politician, and this was getting into my dream and I could do nothing about it.  But at least I was sleeping!

What we both need is some positive stimuli so that our thoughts can be a little more positive.  Working on a piece of music is a lifesaver. Also going on long walks is good, since then your thoughts start concentrating on the trees and the birdsong or the buildings or just the surrounding and again deflects the mind away from our demons.

  4. that sounds scary. i guess you would j8ust stop doing everything, go into a care home and just lie around all day doing nothing.

  5. That does not sound bizarre at all. Actually most people feel like that  sometimes. That's got to be OVERWHELMING for you tho.Its happening too much.My foster daughter was put on seraquil (*sp I think lol ) and lexapro. It really stopped her mind from racing and

over thinking. You might be a great lecturer one day. She is !

One of the things she used to say was ...I just HAVE to much to think about. Its because she was very, very smart and couldn't organize her thoughts, They just popped in and out and she felt like she was crazy!!!!

Ask your dr to try this combinationn. I think you will see  some sunshine in your heart and brain in a matter of days. Take care little sweet. I will be thinking of you and how happy you can be! Just like my daughter!

  6. Nobody says you have to think to survive.

Who knows, you might even end up as president someday!

  7. sweet heart be brave, depression anxiety is curable.what i am trying is when there is self talk all ways shut up negative thoughts and answer positive though u are not feeling well .and keep ur self busy as much as u can.girls are fighter and you will overcome it too.

  8. you'll go insane trying to stop thinking

  9. At times when I have become overwhelmed from feeling and thinking,

dissociation set in.   I would sit and be "spaced out".

I was just blank and empty.  It can be scary because sometimes it can be hard coming out of dissociation.

Try to rest your brain when you feel as though it is too much to think anymore.  Close your eyes and let your mind go blank.  Don't do this for a very long time.  Do this just to get your energy back.  Good Luck.

  10. dont worry you aint on your own im same i think to much and then its the sh*t i think about thAT TOTALLY GETS ME DEPRESSED ITS HORRRIBLE STUFF JUST RUNS THROUGH MY HEAD 24/7 EVEN IN MY SLEEP I DREAM ABOUT STUFF I WAKE UP PANICKENING OR CRYING ITS SO HORRIBLE SOMETIMES I WISH I COULDNT THINK EITHER MY LIFE WOULD BE SOOOOO MUCH EASIER

  11. Replace your stinking thinking with the Lord.  Read the Word of God, the Holy Bible and put the Lord's Word into your mind instead of negativity.

    "There is no fear in love;

but perfect love casts out fear:

    because fear has torment.

He that fears is not made perfect in love."

    1 John 4:18

Christ is perfect love.  When you have a broken heart, you have fear.

When you don't feel safe, you have fear.  When you have anxiety, you have fear.  Sometimes I think we have a disease of the broken heart.

There are all kinds of stages to anxiety.  Fight or Flee.

Resistance Stage.  Exhaustion stage.  Recovery Stage.

    "A merry heart does good like a medicine;

but a broken spirit dries the bones."  Proverbs 17:22

Proverbs 26:2  a curse without a cause does not come.

There is a root cause for all of your stinking thinking.  Remember one thing that the battlefield is in the mind and you must resist the devil so he will flee from you.

You must come to a safety place with God and then to a peace with yourself and then a peace with others.  We must have Peace with God, Peace with others and Peace with ourself.  All three are necessary for healing to take place.

The best way to fight an invisible threat is with the Word of God.  Fill your head with the Bible.  Read the Book of John, then the Psalms, Proverbs, then the other gospels Matthew, Mark and Luke, etc.

God tells us to THINK ON WHAT IS GOOD.  You can't watch horror movies and have good thoughts.  You can't watch soap operas and have good thoughts.  Guard your eyes.  Guard your ears.  Think on what is good.

    I know this will help.

  12. First of all you must realize that to attempt to stop thinking is an exercise in futility. It will never happen. What you can do, however, is control what you think about. If you are being treated for depression by medication alone, you might consider going to therapy as well. Some people bawk at the idea, but if you've taken the step to medicate yourself, the next step is to seek the constant support an advice of a professional you trust. There are plenty of kooks out there so be careful, but there are some good ones too that can seriously help you.

In the meantime, try to distract yourself from such irrational thoughts and focus instead on something positive. You do have to force it sometimes, but don't let your mind wander for too long. It only feeds the depression.

  13. My husband has BiPolar and he often says I wish my brain would just shut off and stop racing. He gets racing thoughts and things that just go a million miles per hour over and over in his mind. It can drive a person crazy. He has found xanax to calm him down and it allows his brain time to shut down and sleep it off. A lot of times he feels better afterwards.

I am glad you are getting treated. Remember the medication is not an exact science so it takes trial and error to find the right mix of cocktail for your brain. The brain is a very complicated organ that doctors are still learning about. Just make sure you tell your doctor if you feel you are getting worse or something is not working. This is very important otherwise they can't do anything for you or find you the right meds.

I hope and pray that you can get something that helps, but I understand how it goes.

  14. It sounds like a byproduct of whatever disorder you have that's causing the anxiety and depression.  Racing thoughts, a mind that "never shuts off", difficulty sleeping, etc.  In other words, you're having anxiety and depression about your anxiety and depression.  It's kind of a circular loop that just keeps going around and around.

Continue with your treatment, but go for a second opinion.  If what you're diagnosed with and what you're treated with isn't working, then you need to continue until you find what does.

You're not a car.  When a headlight goes out, you simply change the bulb.  With disorders in humans there is a lot of science and study behind it, but still plenty of unknowns,  That's why there are so many different treatments, what might work for one may not work for all.

I would practice some deep breathing exercises, do what you can to stay away from stimulants like caffeine and cigarettes, learn a little bit about simply meditation and dedicate 10-30 minutes a day (based on what works for you), and most of all...continue working with professionals to properly diagnose and properly treat what you have!

Then, such thoughts should begin to leave your mind as you don't have anxiety and depression pushing them in.
