  1. They'd both get a gold medal, however, its quite rare for swimmers to tie down to a millisecond.

  2. i'm pretty sure they would do a tie-breaker

  3. They are both awarded Gold. Additional medals are created for such a contingency. No silver is awarded in this case.

This happened during Sydney 2000 in the mens 50m free. Anthony Ervin and Gary Hall Jr shared the top level of the dais and both received a gold medal.

  4. If there is a tie for 1st: gold, gold and bronze are awarded

If there is a tie for 2nd: gold, silver and silver are awarded

If there is a tie for 3rd:gold, silver and bronze and bronze  are awarded.

  5. they have swim of but its better that phelps beat him by .01 of a second because if they did have that swim of i believe that cavic would of won

  6. The answer is yes because i saw 2 swimmers tied for 3 and both got the Bronze so they should give 2 gold medals if both swimmers are tied for first.

  7. They would both get a gold.

  8. They both get awarded. The tech people even said that they had to check all the cameras and equipment to see if they were going to have to give 2 golds or if Phelps, in fact, did get there first. There would only be a swim off if they were in semi finals to qualify for the final race.

  9. Sure they both get gold medals there have been other swwimming competitions (in this olympics) that 2 arrive in 3rd place and they both get a medal

  10. I believe they do a swim off.
