  1. Depending on how frequently you water the plants with carbonated water and how large the root zone is, probably nothing will happen. Plants need oxygen in the root zone for root activity and nutrient uptake--they do not take up carbon or carbon dioxide from the root zone. Some of the carbon dioxide from the water is likely to escape into the atmosphere surrounding the plant’s foliage and may be used to increase photosynthesis very briefly, but I doubt this would have much effect on plant growth. The carbonated water may also displace some oxygen in the root zone briefly. Unless the plant is continually flooded with carbonated water, this is unlikely to have any major affect on plant growth. Carbonated water may also adversely affect the pH and calcium solubility of your nutrient solution, so overall is not a good idea.


  2. Watering your plants with Perrier would do a lot more damage to your bank balance than to the plants.

    If the stuff is good enough for you to drink, your plants will enjoy it.
