What would happen if....?

You pretend to wear your seatbelt on the plane? Like, you had the belt on your lap but it wasn't connected. And you also had your arm on your lap so it looked like it was connected.

What would the attendant do? Or would she really check? Or do they just look fast?

  1. I dont know why you would do this, u only need them for takeoff and landing, turbulence and taxiing.

But they would not maby notice, depends on the person.

  2. Why not wear the belt? Have you ever been in any kind of crash?

  3. it's your life, you wanna risk it, go ahead

  4. No reason for further check normally. U were instructed, flight attendant visually check it. If she is in doubt if u understand the instructions, she/he should check physically.

If there will occur situation when belts should work, u will be in trouble. Or it will be more difficult to identify your body...

  5. You could possibly be badly hurt. Turbulence can set on in an instant, sometimes even in clear weather. A hard enough bounce could send you flying into the ceiling. A problem with the aircraft's controls (God forbid) could give equally violent motions. They ask for all passengers to wear their seat belts at all times for safety. You should ABSOLUTELY not break that rule during takeoff and landing.

  6. Well, the cabin crew will check and they will ask you to move you are so they can check as this is a legal requirement for every airline. It is only for your safety though. I mean there is always a danger of bad landings and turbulence and you can obviously get injured.

Also there is no reason why you should not wear your seat belt anyway, unless you are an extremely rebellious person.

Overall you must wear you seat belt and it is very unlikely you will be able to hide it and get away with it, sorry.

  7. They just look quickly so if it looks like it is fastened they probably would not notice.

I would reccomend bucking up though as it is for your own safety.

  8. Depends on the attendant...I'm pretty sure they are supposed to check closely, but you know how folks get if they're even just a little bit behind.
