Would it really be that big of a deal if a couple of the girls were found under age. If they won gold shouldn't they be able to keep it they were the best so they got the gold. Would china be disqualified from the next Olympics if it found guilty of fraud

  1. I'd assume that China would lose their team gold and any underage individual medalist would lose their medals as well.

  2. YES THEY COULD GET DISQUALIFIED OR DO

WHAT EVER IT IS THAT THEY DO TO PEOPLE

    WHO ARE FRAUDS.

  3. They would lose their medals because they didn't follow the rules. Why are they exceptions? Change the rules for all then.

I would love if it China was disqualified. If you have to win by cheating then you don't deserve to be there.

  4. They would be stripped of their medals in front of their whole entire country. But after reading many posts about this topic on NBC and yahoo, it doesnt seem like much will come of this. The IOC and FIG consider the Passports to be enough to verify ages, and they do not want to disrespect the host country in their time of glory.  As far as either organization goes, they are satisfied with the outcome, and most likely will not be investigating this like it should be!  Im sure that if there was an investigation, and the accusations came out to be true, then there will be some sort of consequence.  Maybe banning them from the sport for the next Olympics, or just banning the girls from ever competing that sport again like they did the Americans who were found postive for drugs! so WHO KNOWS!!!!

  5. If someone can be disqualified for taking a decongestant (and thus failing a drug test) then it's a no-brainer that someone two years below the age requirement would lose her medal.

This by the way is not a snub to her talent. Clearly to earn a gold, He was very talented. However, she should have and could have waited 4 years to compete in 2012, when she would (if the report of being only 14 is true) be 18.

  6. They have been proven, to any reasonable person, but there is nothing anyone can do about it.  The way they steal these poor girls from their families when they are three years old, and abuse and manipulate them, is criminal.  There is a reason they put in the age requirements.  The girls shouldn't be punished (obviously) but China should be banned.

  7. If Pang Jiaying (Chinese swimmer) was disqualified for flinching right before the women's 100-meter freestyle, I would think that the Chinese gymnasts would be stripped of their gold medals for being underage

  8. like the people before me said, the entire chinese team would be stripped of their medals.  then, the other countries would move up to their respective places.  the chinese girls who WERE of age would be able to compete on the individual level though.

in the future, chinese gymnasts will probably have to be more open about their ages, because the rest of the world will always think "well, they lied in the LAST olympic games..."

but it really IS a bad thing to have underage gymnasts.   it encourages young girls to train at a level that just isnt healthy.  the dieting, hard workouts, increased work ethic, stress.  all of those can take a serious toll on a person's health, and at such a young age, the effects are even worse.  by enforcing a minimum age rule for gymnasts, we can attempt to control that.

  9. They would be stripped of their medals as it is called cheating!

  10. They would be stripped of their medals and immense shame and dishonor would fall on them and their family. That's about it. I think.

  11. They would lose their medals because they cheated! It's really sad though, the athletes probably had no control over the situation. I just hope justice is served, and no dreams are broken!

  12. There were plenty of girls that look like they could easily be under the age limit.  I hope if they investigate, they don't just pick on the chinese, every athelete should be looked into and reported on.

  13. I think nothing would happen, except all over the media. Also, if true, China would have major dishonor and embarrassment.

  14. I don't know, but I don't think they deserve their gold if they have underage girls on the team. They have rules for a reason, and it's just not fair to ignore those rules because they have a good team. Plus, if they followed the rules and had only girls 16 and over, then they probably wouldn't be nearly as good as they are.
