  1. Mexico has other trading partners such as China and Canada. What do you think would happen if Mexico stopped exporting oil to the US? Disaster.

  2. um...dude the U.S. barely exports products anymore...the U.S. has become a retail nation...which means it buys and sells what it buys...that's the main way it gets its money...

if the U.S. stopped exporting whatever it exported to Mexico...Mexico won't really be affected mainly because the U.S barely exports any food to Mexico...its the other way around...one of the things the U.S. mainly exports to Mexico are vehicles but in return Mexico exports vehicle parts...so if the U.S. stopped exporting those...Mexico will also stop exporting which is bad for the U.S.

you should be asking what would happen if Mexico stopped exporting to the U.S.

  3. the world would explode

  4. Only thing that could happen is Mexico would stop exporting oil to the U.S.A., and this would quicken the wall to be built up between the two countries. Then after its completion that would make our neighbor become a threat to the United States National Security. If that happens, what do you think would happen to Mexico?

  5. well Im mexican, and also a guy who was old enough to see the transition from a close economy to an open economy in my country. I tell you that Mexico change, before there was not a lot of variety of products in the super markets, in fact ,often you saw empty shells of certain basic products , like sugar or meat, and after the market open I don´t remember my mother going early to the super market and try to get something in a big  supply sortage. We used to have only a few car models to choose from now there are 15 brands and a lot from them comes from the USA,

Nafta also included agro products from the USA, some of the with huge subsidies like corn, wheat, meat and some others, since small mexican farmers couldn´t compite with this they stop producing anything and a lot of them started to emigrate to the USA.

What would happen to the USA if they stop exporting to Mexico? you will be in a bad situation since Mexico is your 2nd biggest business partner, and your products that now consist in 85% percent of everything that is imported into Mexico, will be replaced by products from somewhere else, most likely from Europe and China....

Mexico imports from the USA a big variety of products from corn and Gasoline to sofisticated technology, from IT solutions and even fast food restaurants franchises will be afected...there are Mac Donalds, Starbucks coffe, Burger King, Wendy´s, Chilli´s, Cinemark, apple bees, Costco, Wal-Mart, even a Six Flags or Wet n´wild.....etc, etc, etc.

In resume Nafta has bring benefits to Mexico and also losses, but in an overall look has been a pretty good thing,
