  1. their would be no gravity and everything would die. put simply.

  2. We would not have day and night. The side in darkness will die because there is no sunlight reaching the darkside causing a chain reaction of catastrophic events. Since there would be no producers (plant life) there would be no food for the primary consumers(cows, deer, gazelles, bunnies, giraffes etc..) which would cause them to die off and then there would be no food for the Secondary consumers (Wolves, coyotes, cheetahs, lions, US.)which would cause them to die off.

  3. First, such an event wouldn't happen. So, we must assume some sort of extraordinary force to stop the Earth. Lets say all of Earth was being decelerated at the same angular rate. If this was the case the Earth would not fly apart as previously stated because every part would be slowing down at the same rate.

And gravity would NOT stop! Gravity has absolutely nothing to do with rotation!

After the deceleration one day would be one year. Six months of day light, six months of night. The side facing the sun would heat up causing massive drought and heat waves. The other side would freeze. Around the twilight portions of the Earth huge storms would develop with massive winds pushing the hot air of one side to the cold portion.

  4. We would all be very dizzy because after it stops spinning we'll realize how fast it was going...like when you spin yourself and then stop. lolz

  5. God did this once so his people could win a battle, But should it happen naturally HOT SPOTS could occur. God has created everything to be in perfect balance and sync.

  6. consider the earth orbiting at certain speed, if it stops every body on one side would fly up into the sky then fall back to the earth, with a massive damage on lives, while on the other horizontal side every body would accelerating faster then normal and accelerating slower than normal, and then normal accelerate, while on vertical exist moving 1/3 circular faster. there would be alot of massive mass falling

like ocean water on the other hand will flood with massive liquid on land. so many massive things happen.

  7. If the Earth stopped spinning, there would be no day and night like we're familiar with.  But the Earth would continue orbiting the Sun.  Hence, the summer would be day.  And the winter would be night.  Spring and Fall would be Dawn and Dusk, respectively.

  8. Depends on how quickly it stopped spinning. If it stopped quickly enough the Earth would be torn completely apart by the tremendous deceleration forces. If it happened so slowly that Earth wouldn't be damaged, civilization as we know it would cease to exist because one half of the world would be in perpetual darkness (equals *cold*) while the other half would be perpetually bathed in sunlight (equals *hot*).

FYI...Earth's rotation has nothing to do with the gravitational attraction that holds us on the surface.
